Top gospel artist Jason Nelson, who describes himself as “a worshipper at heart,” will release his first album in three years, Close, on Aug. 6, 2021.

Nelson has racked up over 100 million digital streams for his Billboard No. 1 gospel hits such as “Shifting the Atmosphere,” “I Am” and “Forever,” which has 35 million streams itself. Two tracks from the new project have already released, Residue, which hit No. 5 on the Billboard charts, and today’s release of the title track, “CLOSE.”

The new album also features R&B star Chrisette Michele and Grammy-winning jazz bassist John Patitucci.

Nelson is also pastor of The Tab (formerly The Tabernacle at Greater Bethlehem Temple) in Windsor Mills, Maryland, and says music is just an extension of his role as pastor.

“All I’m asking of You is to be close, that’s all I want to do,” Nelson sings in the new release. Worship along with him here!
