Pope Francis Has a Message for the Church: ‘Come, Holy Spirit’

When Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby met with Pope Francis, Welby said he “cheekily” asked Francis to give a message of Thy Kingdom Come, a global wave of prayer calling all Christians to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ.

What happened next shocked Welby.

“Come, Holy Spirit,” the pope said. “This is the cry of all Christians on this day of Pentecost. Come, Holy Spirit. The promise of the Father, the promise of Jesus, that the Holy Spirit might enlarge and widen our hearts.”
