Christian Artists Matthew West, Newsboys’ Michael Tait to Perform at National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

This year the 98th National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony features the talents of Grammy-nominated Christian artist Matthew West, Newsboys’ Michael Tait and “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, among other performers.

The event is available to watch on-demand at thenationaltree.org starting today, Dec. 3, at 5 p.m. Eastern and throughout the holiday season.

This year’s event is also highlighted by President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump lighting the National Christmas Tree at President’s Park in Washington, D.C.

Lighting the National Christmas Tree is one of America’s oldest holiday traditions, with the first lighting having taken place in 1923 by President Calvin Coolidge.
