Will Candace Owens Run for President?

Outspoken conservative activist Candace Owens tweeted on Feb. 6, 2021, an exploration of her potential run for 47th president of the United States.

While the 26,000 comments reveal mixed responses to the action should Owens’ thoughts turn to action, the post has garnered major attention with over 35,000 retweets.

Owens, who turns 32 in April, would be eligible to run for president in the 2024 election.

The former Democrat became known for aligning her views with Republican conservatives after former President Donald J. Trump was elected in 2016.

Owens’ new outlook has long since been seen as controversial—and often censored for rhetoric contrary to mainstream media.

She recently underwent fire for her “controversial” stance from hosts of The View when Owens posed for a photo with Van Jones, CNN podcast host, author and lawyer.

Owens acknowledged the respect she and Jones share, despite differences in beliefs.

Even without being part of the inner circle of Trump supporters, Owens has brought attention to the Black conservative vote.

Owens desires to liberate Black Americans from the Democratic shackles which, she says, have hurt more than helped the Black community. She urges a “major Black exodus” in her new book, Blackout, released in Sept. 2020.
