Evangelists: The Gospel Doesn’t Promise Health, Wealth, Prosperity on Earth

Evangelists Glen Scrivener and Sam Chan stress the importance of recognizing that following Christ isn’t a surefire path to health and wealth. Rather, we will suffer while on this earth, but we have the promise of God’s peace, forgiveness and hope.

“The problem with our gospel presentations is that we talk about every blessing through Jesus, when we should preach every blessing in Jesus, offering Christ Himself to people,” Scrivener says. “Therefore, you’re not promised health, wealth and prosperity or anything. What you’re promised is Jesus Himself.”
