Revivalist Expert: ‘I Saw a Move of God Right in Front of My Eyes’

Sure, you may know about Azusa and Wales, about Jonathan Edwards riding around the Northeast. But do you know about the Kiowa Indian revival or when the Iron Curtain fell in Russia?

Gene Bailey does, and he wants to tell you all about it with his program Revival Radio TV on the Believers Voice Network, where his team details the incredible moves of God throughout history.

Bailey sat down with Charisma Founder and CEO Steve Strang to discuss his program, as well what revival really means and where believers can find it. For Bailey, his understanding began during the Jesus Movement of the 1960s-’70s.

Bailey’s parents launched a house church when they were kicked out of their non-denominational congregation in Atlanta, Georgia, during the ’60s.

“I saw a move of God right in front of my eyes,” Bailey says.

Miracles unfolded as people stood up and declared their testimonies—something Bailey believes is missing from many churches today, even though Scripture says that is how we are to overcome the enemy.

People would randomly show up on the Bailey doorstep, telling whomever answered they were there to see God. “God just sent me here,” they would say.

There was such an anticipation of what God was going to do at night that revival broke out in their house.

When Christians today hear of these stories, they often long for the “good ol’ days,” where God was moving. Where is He now?

Revival is happening all around, especially considering the word itself means “refreshing,” “renewal” or “pulling back to God.”

But are believers standing in the way?

“The reality is God is doing something; we just have to sit back and watch, let it flow,” Bailey says.
