You’ll Never Guess the Everyday Weapon Satan Uses to Destroy Us

Did you know our everyday words can harm us? As I write about in my latest book, The Prophetic and Healing Power of Your Words, before we become successful in the big-ticket items that need serious prophetic healing, we need to focus on the day-to-day, seemingly harmless phrases that we speak over ourselves that often cause us a lot of trouble. And they may even be the source of a much bigger problem. Song of Songs 2:15 advises us to “Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.”

Foxes are considered to be destructive animals that can destroy valuable vineyards. Speaking spiritually about the prophetic and healing power of our words, the little foxes are the everyday words we use that can cause us harm. And we need to go on a foxhunt and catch them before they destroy us.

Let’s look at some common statements we make every day that can cause us harm, and why.

If we say, “One day, I will be healed,” we never will be, because we are speaking in the future tense and we can never catch up to tomorrow. This is why God’s Word is so powerful when it declares in Isaiah 53:5b, “By His stripes we are healed.” Personalize this verse and declare over yourself, “By His stripes I am healed.”

If we continue to say about ourselves, “I am so sick and tired of ...” Eventually our physical bodies will manifest these words and be sick and tired because our words have the power of life and death in them.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Prov. 18:21).

And perhaps there is a healthier way to say what you really mean to say. Instead of saying, “I’m so sick and tired of …” train yourself to make a positive statement such as, “I need to take a break to refresh.”

Listen to what you say and ask yourself, “Do I really want to say that?” And ask the Holy Spirit to help you change your words to what you really mean to say. {eoa}
