How Double-Mindedness Increases Demonic Warfare

Share:

Demonic warfare is something we are all faced with as the enemy is seeking entrance through doubts in our minds over difficult situations in our lives. However, if we can learn to be single-minded in our devotion to the Lord we can decrease the amount of entry the enemy gets in our minds through doubt and fear and instead combat his tactics through faith.

In 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, the apostle Paul tells us that, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

We are called to take every thought captive to obedience to Christ, which encourages us to remain in Him as single-minded and devoted to the Lord.

2 Corinthians 11:3 says, “But I fear that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve through his trickery, so your minds might be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ.”

This pure and simple devotion is to have a single-minded focus on the Lord at all times. This means living in the reality of faith daily, which ultimately pleases God. The enemy is prowling around looking to devour us (1 Pet. 5:8), and we must keep our eyes on Christ to close the door on his lies and deception. If we walk with double-mindedness by lacking faith, we open the door to fear and can be easily overrun by Satan’s scheming.

James 1:5-8 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without criticism, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without wavering. For he who wavers is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed with the wind. Let not that man think that he will receive anything from the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

Let us learn to be stable in our ways by walking in faith, living by faith and standing in faith. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1). Faith is a reality, and we can touch it in the spiritual and natural realms. Anywhere we are weak in our faith, we are a target. So let us attempt to strengthen our faith-walk and close the door, for health, healing and blessings to flow.
