Oral Roberts University Names Ossie Mills EVP of University Advancement

Oral Roberts University President Mark Rutland has named Ossie Mills, a 1983 ORU graduate, as executive vice president of university advancement. Mills began on Sept. 1.

“With his vast experience in development, relationship marketing, television and communications, I know he will be a tremendous asset to the university and will be a catalyst for our growth. I am excited that Ossie has joined ORU as the senior executive of advancement,” says Rutland.

Mills has over 28 years of experience in media, management, communications and distribution of for-profit and nonprofit organizations. He has been engaged in leadership roles in television (most recently as an executive vice president at Inspiration Networks), production, marketing, interactive communications, commerce and executive management. He is also recognized as one of the premiere executives in the faith-based community.

Throughout his career, Mills has a track record of achieving extraordinary results by equipping teams of people and organizations alike to accomplish significant impact throughout the world. He specializes in visioning, building win-win partnerships, process mapping and is a master relationship builder.

Mills’ vast library of awards include three Emmys, 10 Telly Awards, two Cable Aces, 15 Angel Awards, three International Communicator Awards, a CBA Impact and Dove Award. In addition, he also received the hero’s medal from the Philippine government for a documentary he produced during the Yellow Revolution titled “The Shaking Has Started.”

Mills will lead the following areas: Alumni Relations, Ministerial Relations, Major Gifts, Advancement Services, Annual Fund and Estate Planning, Golden Eagle Broadcasting, University Media Production, Public Relations, Marketing, and the International Worship Center. He will also be a member of the Executive Council for the university.
