Exercise therapist, triathlete and bodybuilder Joanne “Jo” Moody went through life with amazing verve, but along with giving birth to her only child, she ended up with years of unexplained, debilitating nerve pain.

“My pelvis was too small to birth this very intelligent, large-headed baby, and sadly, his head pressed against the nerve in my pelvic canal for 91 hours,” she says.

She says she suffered from “chronic nerve pain 24/7” and took “seven types of narcotic pain medication, and nothing was touching it.” Over a period of six years, she endured 13 surgeries in an attempt to correct the problem. Finally, in 2005, she got the right diagnosis.

With serious ongoing pain, she went to France hoping for a surgical cure. But there, she says she bled to death on an operating table. She was given a choice, though, “because of the prayers of the saints,” as to whether to come back to earth. After God showed her her 5-year-old son, she chose to return.

In 2013 at Randy Clark’s Voice of the Apostles conference, a Texas businessman prayed for her, and she says she became a “medical miracle.”

“I would have taken my life, absolutely, if I didn’t know the Lord,” Moody says. “I had such low lows with pain.”

Moody knows this was an attack from hell.

“We have a very real and present enemy who seeks to kill us and destroy us, so I know what that’s all about,” she says. “But I also know we have a Savior who fights for us and the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us.”

After her healing, she enrolled in Clark’s school and God led her to found Agape Freedom Fighters, a ministry that now has more than 100 prayer team ministers who travel all over the world.

Today she encourages others through her powerful testimony and ministry.

“The Lord fights for you,” she says. “You have got to hold onto the Word of God as the sword in your mouth and speak that over yourself because the enemy is afraid of you and what you are destined to do, and he wants to keep you in bondage. The Lord is absolutely fighting for you, and you will be free in Jesus’ name.”
