Surfer Bethany Hamilton Weds in Hawaii

Bethany Hamilton, the 23-year-old whose shark attack story inspired the film Soul Surfer, has wed in Hawaii.

The pro-surfer, who lost her arm in the 2003 shark drama, wed Christian youth minister Adam Dirks on Saturday. The couple met on the beach in 2012, and Dirks proposed this year in April.

Hamilton took to Twitter to share her excitement about her new husband, and wrote, “Today was the most beautiful, wonderful best day of my life! God is more than good. Excited to live life with my husband Adam Dirks!”
