Messianic Rabbi Curt Landry is well aware of the ongoing problem of identity theft in our culture today. Cyber thieves have attempted to run many lives personally and financially by assuming the identity on innocent bystanders.
But Landry says there is a more a serious issue believers face when they are robbed of who they are. And Satan, he says, is doing everything to keep Christ followers from their kingdom calling.
“There’s truly an attack on our identity—not only in cyberspace with identity theft, but there is a real cultural attack on the Judeo-Christian faith, our constitutional identity as a nation,” Landry told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent edition of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “If they can steal our identity, they can steal our purpose. And when our identity is stolen, we get confused.
“We need to reclaim our forgotten heritage. You must labor in your identity of who you are in Christ, that identity of really having a visitation of where the Holy Spirit reveals your identity that creates purpose. That type of identity purpose creates a calling versus, say, a career.
“Pray for God to order your steps. Stay attentive during the day for open doors of opportunity and be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s promptings. I think the Lord can use you every single day in very small and subtle ways. If we are anticipating that is our destiny for the day, you should thank God for ordering your steps. Many people simply need counseling on purpose. When they find their purpose in Christ, that leads to their destiny.”
