‘Christ Jesus’ Goes Viral on Social Media from Thousands Sharing Scripture

People around the world are suffering from a spiritual drought as God is removed from public places and replaced with secularism and pagan gods of old, as unpacked in Jonathan Cahn’s recent bestseller, The Return of the Gods.

Yet this decline in spiritual health and safety can be combatted and defeated when Christians rise up and proclaim the name of Jesus to the whole world.

That is precisely what is unfolding on Twitter:

Christ Jesus Trending

‘Christ Jesus’ is a trending topic with tens of thousands of tweets and appears near the top of trending topics, exposing millions of users and piquing their interest into this Jesus who is making such waves.

When Twitter users look at the top posts for the ‘Christ Jesus’ topic capturing people’s attention, leading the way is pastor of Free Chapel and best-selling author Jentezen Franklin.

Franklin posted a simple Bible verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 which reads:

“Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.”

No grandeur, simply sharing the Word of God that at the time of this article, has been viewed over 41,000 times on Twitter.

If one scrolls just half a second longer, they will see another message from Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel China Hills with a message for people from Philippians 4:19-20 saying:

“My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

It is not just the evangelical leaders who were the ones to get the name of Jesus in front of millions of eyes, it was the everyday Christian men and women sharing Bible verses that mean something to them and sharing those impactful words with the world.

Christians must not be apathetic regarding the impact that social media has on people’s lives because many people will check their social media accounts each and every day but will never step foot in a church or engage with Christians.

Under Elon Musk, Twitter has become the one true place for public discourse or an “online public square” as Musk envisioned it. Is it not within the Great Commission for Christians to proclaim the Word of God in such a space?

To have ‘Christ Jesus’ as one of the top topics on Twitter should not just be a trend, it should be a constant.

Of the millions of Christian Twitter users, if each one tweeted one Bible verse a day, with or without a message of encouragement, there would be a Twitter takeover in Jesus’ name every single day that would reach tens of millions of eyes.

Technology changes, and Christianity adapts with it.

From the creation of the printing press which has filled the world with physical copies of the Bible, to radio and then television broadcasting sermons, prayers and Bible studies across the globe, social media has joined the communication lineage as the newest technology that Satan wants to use for evil, but Christians have the opportunity to purpose for the Word of God.

What Bible verse would you share with the world if given the chance? Because the opportunity is there, Christians just need to take it. {eoa}
