An elementary school in Oklahoma is under fire for their decision to hire none other than a drag queen with a previous record for possessing child pornography.
Dr. Shane Murnan was hired at the John Glenn Elementary School in Oklahoma City back in June by Western Heights Public Schools. While Murnan has been in the education field for over 20 years, he was charged back in 2002 for possession of child pornography on his computer. His case was later reversed from what the court ruled was a lack of evidence.
According to The Christian Post, the school district originally shared their excitement for Murnan’s hiring on Facebook in June.
The statement read: “This evening, the Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Shane Murnan for the Head Principal position at John Glenn Elementary. Recently, the district has been made aware of previous charges that were dismissed more than 20 years ago.”
The school district also applauded Murnan for “more than 25 years” and for an “outstanding reputation.”
If child pornography charges weren’t enough to make parents squirm, Murnan also performs as a drag queen named Miss Shantel Mandalay. Back in 2021, Murnan, dressed as Mandalay, read during a story time for the Metropolitan Library System for an online pride event, according to the Libs of TikTok account.
“Special guest, drag queen Miss Shantel Mandalay, will introduce little ones to the magic of reading through stories about love, self-expression and family,” The post read.
If anyone questioned the indoctrination and the sexualization of children in our day and age, there’s no reason to doubt it now. Scripture tells us that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10), and that Jesus is the one who brings life and life more abundantly. It’s clear from cases like this one that Satan is undeniably after God’s children.
Consider the infiltration of LGBTQ themes even into Christian music with Flamy Grant’s “Good Day” and explicit, pornographic books finding their way onto library shelves for children to check out. Did these occurrences happen by chance? No, they did not. Instead, there is an agenda being pushed forth that is even more dark and menacing than what most people notice from the surface level. Why else would a corporation like Disney push shows onto kids romanticizing hell and Satan?
If there ever was a time to use wisdom and discernment about how to live life according to the Word of God, it is now. We cannot falter away from the truth that brings goodness and life to us, which can only be found through the person of Christ. We must stay rooted on the Word of God and point others to the truth that will lead them to life and away from evil. {eoa}
