Has Porn Infected Your Church?

Share:

The latest statistics on pornography and the church show that the church has a dirty little secret—but it’s not so little. Chances are, on any given Sunday morning, the person sitting either to your left or your right will be struggling with pornography.

We already knew that 68% of men in church regularly view porn, but Josh McDowell, who commissioned the new research, has now revealed that “of young adults 18-24 years old, 76 percent actively—and these are Christians—actively seek out porn.”

Why Is This a Big Deal?

Never before has such a large portion of the church lived in contradiction of what it believes. Jesus didn’t mince words when He said, “But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart” (Matt. 5:28). At that point in time, adultery was punishable by death! If we don’t confront the issue of pornography, the church is going to continue dying from the inside out.

Florida-based filmmaker Jeremy Wiles was so shocked by the stats on porn in the church several years ago that he created a cinematic DVD series through which more than 400,000 men are learning to conquer porn and walk in freedom.

So why can’t most men just stop watching porn? According to Dr. Ted Roberts, host of the Conquer Series, churches often treat this issue as a moral one, but fail to recognize it’s mainly a brain problem.

“We tell men to try harder, pray harder, love Jesus more,” Dr. Roberts says. “But, what starts off as a moral problem quickly becomes a brain problem. Telling a man to try harder is only tightening the ‘noose’ of bondage.”

Today, science sheds new light on biblical truth regarding strongholds of the mind and how a person becomes enslaved to sin.

See how over 400,000 men are already starting to conquer porn and walk in freedom!

The Church Is Being Overrun

The church is currently ill equipped to deal with this epidemic. Only 7 percent of pastors say that they have a program at their church to help those struggling with pornography. Are you at one of the 93 percent of churches that do not have a program for men?

The Conquer Series has become “ground zero” for churches to help men overcome pornography.
