Believers Gather to Bathe Election in Prayer Days Before Election

Share:

Throughout the nation, believers gathered in person and online to cover the weekend before the election in prayer, interceding for God’s will to be done. The tens of thousands participating prayed for His peace and mercy to reign in the nation in the aftermath of the election, and for believers to arise and vote for godly principles to be upheld in our government.

National Prayer Summit

The National Prayer Summit, an online streaming conference held Friday and Saturday, included presentations by numerous well-known faith leaders.

Cindy Jacobs encouraged believers to take hold of their identity as co-laborers with Christ against the powers of darkness: “We are training for future generations to come.”

Pastor Ché Ahn relates the shakings in history with the end times and a coming revival with the revivals of years past, showing how we can learn from history. “We have not really seen a tremendous move of the Holy Spirit since 1994,” Ahn said, noting that America is part of the second global shaking where every nation is being impacted by COVID-19.

James Goll spoke on the dangers of seeing God and the Bible as “just another piece of great literature” and encouraged viewers to truly know God, instead of just knowing about God.

Alveda King’s prayer covered hot-button issues of the nation, and issued a powerful call to action: “Lord, COVID is under your feet, in the name of Jesus,” she said. “Your Word is very clear, Lord, on how we should proceed. Let those who have the opportunity and credentials to vote, vote without fear and get to vote according to Your Word and according to Your promise.”

As One Rally

Prophet and ministry leader Lance Wallnau hosted the As One Rally on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to Wallnau, Robert Henderson, Jeremiah Johnson and others shared messages of hope with the crowd—cold and wet from rain over the nation’s capital.

During the prayer gathering, Wallnau declared: “God has a remnant that is pressing through for the United States. You are the remnant!” Proclaiming the church’s identity as the modern ekklesia, he said, “We’re no longer watching history. We’re shifting roles and we’re in the role of making history happen.”

The nine-hour event culminated with Pentecostal Pastor Mario Murillo preaching the gospel and praying for people who indicated serious illnesses, reported journalist Steve Rees. Many signaled they were healed by waving their hands from the mall grounds. Murillo noted the mall was like the biblical Pool of Bethesda (Mark 8:22-26), where people received healing.

White House Prayer Meetings

President Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, dedicated every Sunday night in October to host prayer meetings, with the concluding meeting on Nov. 1 featuring Pastor Greg Laurie, Pastor Jentezen Franklin, Lisa and John Bevere, Sean Feucht and others.

The powerful times of worship and intercessory prayer over the course of these three events—some through less than ideal weather circumstances—prove the dedication of believers across the nation and world to cover the upcoming election with the blessing of the Holy Spirit. As Pastor Jack Graham prayed during Lara Trump’s call to prayer: “We are asking You, oh God, for Your grace and mercy to heal our land and save America.”

Jonathan Cahn’s Call for Prayer and Fasting

The momentum of prayer continues with bestselling author Jonathan Cahn’s call to prayer and fasting on Election Day. “If we do nothing to oppose the darkness, to shine the light, then we will be accountable before God, for the fate of the lost, for the next generation and for the blood of millions. If you are able to vote,” he said, directly addressing Americans, “You must.” {eoa}
