Why You Can’t Ask For Whatever You Want in the Name of Jesus and Get It

As part of his “Twisted” series, Life.Church’s Craig Groeschel breaks down the idea that God will give you whatever you want if you ask in the name of Jesus.

In John 14:13-14, Jesus says, “I will do whatever you ask in My name, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

If you’re among the multitude who asked for something in the name of Jesus and didn’t get it, Groeschel has some wisdom.

“Obviously this verse is not true. Obviously this verse does not work. Obviously this is not what Jesus was saying, it’s not true,” Groeschel says. “Or, perhaps, we’re twisted in our understanding in our application of what Jesus was saying.”

Watch the video to see him break it down.
