Why This Prophetic Minister Decided to Lay Hands on People Despite COVID-19

Prophetic minister Dennis Funderburg says that despite the restrictions brought about by COVID-19, he still decided to lay hands on people not long ago and impart gifts of the Spirit to them.

“Right now, a lot of churches aren’t able to meet. And so there’s a little interaction, like we’re doing stuff off social media and online and what not,” Funderburg says. “But there is that missing face-to-face encounter and interaction. I had an impartation meeting not too long ago, in the middle of the coronavirus thing, because I felt like the Lord wanted me to just lay hands on people and have an impartation meeting. It was super powerful; very beautiful.

“This is kind of the thing in Romans, [Paul] is like, ‘Man, I longed to see you, I want to see you, I want to be with you. And I want to impart something to you. I want to impart spiritual gifts to make you strong and that you and I may both be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.'”

However, many people are sheltering in place right now, and Funderburg says God will still touch people through prayer and unity, regardless of the distance, he says on the Jesus Is Still Jesus podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network.

“Geography doesn’t really have anything to do with a movement of the Holy Spirit,” Funderburg says. “We can be here and there, and God will still move. I mean, I’ve been on international trips, we’re halfway around the world and pray for people on the other side of the world, and the Holy Spirit will touch them.

“Geography doesn’t have anything against what God wants to do, especially in moments like these. Just because we’re not sitting at a table together doesn’t mean that our hearts aren’t joined together as one.”
