Satan Defeated: Harvard Students Backpedal on ‘Black Mass’ Satanic Ritual

Satan is defeated again—quite literally—as the Harvard University Cultural Studies Club has decided to back off its re-enactment of a satanic “black mass” at the historic campus.

The Archdiocese of Boston didn’t exactly bind the devil in the name of Jesus, but it did rise up with righteous indignation at the prospect of the Satanic Temple holding a demonic event Monday night under the guise of exploring diverse religious cultures.

“In a recent statement, Pope Francis warned of the danger of being naïve about or underestimating the power of Satan, whose evil is too often tragically present in our midst,” says a statement released by the Archdiocese of Boston, which is led by Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley.

“We call upon all believers and people of good will to join us in prayer for those who are involved in this event, that they may come to appreciate the gravity of their actions, and in asking Harvard to disassociate itself from this activity,” the statement continues.

As TFP Student Action put it, the satanic black mass represents a new wave of anti-God sentiment in America. In the past, satanic black masses were held in hidden places. But now they are done in public and at prestigious venues like Harvard University.

Or they would have been if not for prayer and action. Indeed, prayer worked, even if it wasn’t with charismatic flare and loud voices.

Even still, don’t expect satanists to give up. Satan is a defeated foe, but he’s seemingly too proud to admit it—and so are his followers. Like I wrote last week in my Watchman on the Wall column about how satanists want believers to sit in Lucifer’s lap:

Saints, satanists are rising. It’s an Antichrist spirit. I’ve been sounding the alarm on this for a while, and I’ll keep on sounding it. Let’s remember the words of John the apostle: “Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour” (1 John 2:18).
