The following is one of several Christian responses to the Supreme Court’s ruling to overturn a ban on same-sex marriages. The ruling will alter the course of the country and its perception of Christianity. This response is from Ken Ham, the founder of Answers in Genesis.

This ruling in favor of gay “marriage” by the Supreme Court is actually going to fundamentally change the culture in America, and apart from a miracle of God—a special movement of God—this is going to be basically an irreversible situation.

I really believe that to understand what is happening to America now, read Romans 1. That is really a picture of what is going on. We’re going to see increased persecution against Christians; we’re going to see increased antagonism toward Christianity. We’re going to see the restriction of the free exercise of religion, freedom of religion and free speech in this nation, particularly in regard to Christianity.

I believe we’re going to see the government move against Christian churches, colleges, institutions and organizations that take a stand on biblical marriage as God commands us to in the Bible going back to the book of Genesis.

As Jesus stated in Matthew, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man put asunder” (Matt. 19:4-6).

The president, CEO, and founder of Answers in Genesis-US and the highly acclaimed Creation Museum, Ken Ham is one of the most in-demand Christian speakers in North America.
