In 1776, historian Edward Gibbon published his classic “The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.” The brilliant six-volume set featured a statement apropos for us in America today: “Bizarreness masqueraded as creativity.”
As we look at our culture today, we are not alarmists but realists stating the obvious: We are involved in a systemic collapse of traditional America.
What are three primary indicators? What does God require of us in a dark hour of our nation’s history? Can we communicate vision, hope and a pathway to peace for those bewildered around us, both in the church and in society?
