Could This One Act of Obedience Trigger a Revival Like We’ve Never Seen?

In 2012 whilst walking in the Derbyshire Dales, I sensed that Europe was crying out for a spiritual awakening. From the land where so many had reached out to the New Worlds and in the aftermath platform of two world wars the blood of the martyrs cried out.

Though I had never been to Norway, I felt led to go with my husband and in my inner self knew that there were people there that the Lord wanted me to connect with. We arrived in Stavanger and since that visit, I have returned to minister there three times. This coming June, I will be returning to speak on Norwegian television and in July at a large family camp.

From that single obedience to the prompting, other doors in Europe began to open, and I felt that revival across Europe would come from the North and Norway. I was reminded that along with the Normans, Romans and Celts, it was the Vikings from Norway that populated England in the 11th century. It was the 1799 revival in Norway under Hauge led to the 1899 revival in Dakota and Minnesota. The Haugean movement then led into the early 1900 Pentecostal movement in America and many Norwegian and Scandinavian leaders led churches in America throughout the 20th century.

As I followed the leading of the Holy Spirit the doors began to open across Europe as invitations came from Italy, France, Finland, Germany, Wales, Spain and Greece In 2016 Brexit happened, and though there was a planned severance with the mainland linked now only by a tunnel, I sensed that the Lord would bring us all closer together in a great spiritual awakening.

As we approach the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, I believe that the Lord is now opening doors and not nailing theses to them. The doors of Europe are open, from the lands where Paul penned the epistles, from where the pilgrims reached America and from where Wesley and others reached the globe, now is the hour of hope.

The good news is that the Good News of the gospel is being brought again to Europe and with the breakdown of communism, the falling of the Berlin Wall we are beginning to see reunification. When I spoke in Romania , Eastern Europe I could see the hunger especially from the youth of Bucharest. I saw the Gypsies, the Russians and Ukrainian women at the National Convention cry out for an encounter with the living God and to see this touched my heart and lit a fire within me.

As the flame of the Holy Spirit spreads, maps, boundaries and borders are being torn up as that unquenchable move can’t be stopped; it is fanned by the efforts of the likes of me and others who are willing to go, to carry that torch of transformation.

Less that 1 percent of Europeans are evangelical Christians and my vision is to reach the other 99 percent through local European churches with the goal of building leaders and reach the lost. It is in my heart to build off the strong foundation rooted by those serving now and before me. The Lord is looking for us to build relationships and networks to nurture and groups to gather the harvest.

I’m off now to walk those Derbyshire Dales to get fresh instructions and more good news. Please pray for me too and join in this new season for Europe. {eoa}
