We may stop going to church because one hurt us, or we may stop reading the Word because it’s offensive or confusing. But then we might wonder why we’re seeing no transformation or growth in our life when we’ve isolated ourselves from God and His people, explains author and speaker Christine Caine at the Passion 2020 conference.

“I’ve been in one church for 31 years,” Caine says. “You wonder why I’m here today? I submitted 31 years. It hasn’t hindered what God has wanted to do in and through my life; it’s the vehicle through which I’ve been released into the purpose that God has for my life.

“Prayer is a lifeline, not a religious duty. Reading the Bible and building my life in alignment with the parameters and the boundaries of the Word of God hasn’t restricted me; it has catapulted me into the purposes of God.”

She says there are a lot of issues that are dividing believers today, such as house church versus megachurch, medicine versus divine healing, male leaders versus female leaders and so on. But God uses all of that: He doesn’t favor one over the other, and we too often get caught up over the wrong issues.

“Some of you need to get off social media and stop all the arguing, and go and dig a new well somewhere else that is going to bring life and hope and mercy,” Caine says. ” … I have a fear of not living the abundant life that He’s called me to live because I’m too busy scrolling through everybody else’s life.”
