World’s Largest Church Auditorium Dedicated in Nigeria

Dr. Paul Enenche says he opened the largest sanctuary in the world in Abuja, Nigeria, last week after a week of dedication and festivities. The Dunamis International Gospel Center, which is pastored by Enenche and his wife, Dr. Becky Enenche, hosted the 2018 Kingdom Power & Glory World Conference to commemorate the opening of the new auditorium, called The Glory Dome.

The Glory Dome—which is part of a larger property referred to as “The Lord’s Garden”—can hold 100,000 people, and a 2016 promotional video said the auditorium would be “the largest covered roof in Africa.”

“When God gives a commandment, He gets committed,” Enenche said. “Only God could have built this building. He was committed.”

Enenche says God gave him a revelation about the building, telling him it should be near an airport so that everyone—even foreign dignitaries and presidents—would see it from the road. When no such property was available, Enenche pursued other options, but soon God repeated to him, “I showed you a place before, and that is the place.” Enenche says he then called his property agent, anointed him with oil and sent him to find the property. One week later, the agent returned having found property near an airport.

“One square inch in his plan is better than 1,000 acres of property outside his plan,” Enenche said.

Grace Knodt, a ministry leader who has been friends with the Enenches for 14 years, told Charisma News: “I have worked in over 70 nations in ministry and I do not know of a bigger building.”

Dr. Morris Cerullo attended the dedication and preached Tuesday, Nov. 27. Other guests included Nigerian Vice President and pastor Yemi Osinabjo, former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and E.A. Adeboye, general overseer and leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Lagos. In total, leaders from 40 nations were represented at the event.

Some social media users voiced concern regarding the building’s construction, characterizing it as a misuse of funds at a time when Nigeria is impoverished and struggling to even build infrastructure. Enenche responded to those criticisms during a recent sermon.

“I heard some very highly irrelevant, insignificant, infinitesimal, microscopic, statistical piece of materials that are only relevant for census purposes who only hang around on the internet to talk against people,” Enenche said. “They have not achieved anything. Will never achieve anything for life. Will be remembered for nothing. They say, ‘Why do you build a big church and not build a factory?’ We are paying so many people on payroll. What about five to 10 thousand people [who] worked on this structure? They received their salaries and their living. Well, I have bad news for that devil: You have seen nothing yet.”

Knodt confirmed to Charisma the auditorium was built “debt-free” and provided jobs to workers at a time when government workers had gone months without payment.

Enenche believes this is only the beginning of what God will do in Nigeria and around the world.

“We see nations coming to see what the Lord has done,” Enenche said. “Once you step in there, your mind is enlarged and you dream big. The Glory Dome will be used for global revival.”

The official Dunamis website describes Enenche as “a trained Medical Doctor, called of God into full time ministry, with a heavy Apostolic and Prophetic mantle for the restoration of human lives and dignities.” The church’s website says it hosts five Sunday services and two Wednesday services.
