When a member of the Canadian armed forces voluntarily sought help from the Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC), medical assistance in dying (MAID) was the last thing they expected to be offered. For Americans who have never heard of it, this is government-sponsored suicide.
The veteran, whose identity is not revealed, was offered this as a solution from a VAC employee while seeking help after suffering from a traumatic brain injury (TBI). The veteran reported the incident after being outraged by the suggestion, according to the Global News report.
The family members of the veteran were angered upon finding out the offer of MAID was even presented. They brought up the improvements made in the veterans physical and mental rehabilitations to Global News. Since there are specific criteria a person must meet to even be eligible for MAID, which the veteran did not meet, the breach in protocol is even more dubious.
The inappropriate handling of the situation with a veteran suffering from a TBI has led to speculation about this topic being brought up to other veterans suffering from PTSD.
MAID was made legal in Canada in 2016, and is being made more widely available to Canadiens suffering from various mental health issues in the coming years. There are stipulations to receiving MAID however, yet VAC noted that it is not an option they currently offer to veterans.
This breach of trust and medical professionalism has transformed into a full-scale investigation of the incident by Deputy Minister of the VAC.
Even more disturbing is the turn away from the gift of life that Canada has taken. The U.S. has had to suffer through times when this topic would make the news, such as when Jack Kevorkian would attempt to tout the benefits of euthanasia and proceed to carry out the process of assisted suicide (murder) for his victims.
There is no doubt this battle will come back to the U.S. What better way for the devil to accomplish his mission to steal, kill and destroy than to deceive individuals to do it themselves?
Unfortunately, patients are being steered that way by employees of the health system they are attempting to find help in.
Satan has used this strategy for a long time. By wrapping murder and suicide in the guise of kindness and mercy, he has found an avenue toward death that many will flock to. It is no different than disguising the castration and mutilation of children’s bodies in the guise of ‘gender affirming care.’
It is a strategy that has worked, and continues to work in our society. There must be watchers on the wall to combat this heinous practice and restore appreciation for God’s gift of life. {eoa}
