In a miraculous move of God happening right now in India, the faithfulness of one pastor and his utter reliance on God has sparked a church revival. Rev. Paul Thangiah followed the call of God and started a church in 1982.

On his first day as an Assemblies of God pastor three people came to hear him preach the good news. Now, years later Thangiah’s relentless pursuit of Jesus despite having no money or food at times has birthed a congregation of 35,000.

“I started with absolute no money and trusting God,” Thangiah says in the Charisma News interview.

From the beginning he never turned back, no matter how hard life’s challenges became. When there was no food on the table and only water to get by, he pressed in and put his faith in the God of abundance.

“I kept focusing on building God’s kingdom, spending time in prayer and fasting,” Thangiah says.

FGAG Church, has eight satellite campuses throughout the country and an extensive social media network.

Thangiah and pastors across India are facing a new persecution threat. A new bill was passed called the “Anti-Conversion Bill” saying you can’t baptize anyone into the Christian faith from another religion. Citizens from any other religion are also prohibited from marrying a follower of Jesus.

“I started a very intense prayer and fasting. It has to be the intervention of the Holy Spirit and it has to be the intervention of the power of the Lord,” he says.

Right now if they go against the law, they will face extreme persecution from the government. Despite the laws, Thangiah says multitudes are having encounters with Jesus and giving their lives to him. The sick are being healed, demons are being cast out and a multiplication in the church is happening across India.

Tune in to the full interview with Rev. Paul Thangiah and John Matarazzo to hear about the pastors recent venture to northern India and the miraculous events taking place. {eoa}
