Several Christian aid ministries are responding to Hurricane Dorian’s devastation.

Dorian slammed into the Bahamas this past weekend, killing 5 people and destroying 13,000 homes. Prime Minister Hubert Minnis asked for prayers as first responders worked on search, rescue and recovery.

World Help, an international Christian humanitarian aid organization, has partnered with other relief organizations in the Bahamas and the U.S. to help in the most affected areas.

“Please do something to help today. Your involvement during this unsettling time will remind the victims of this tragedy they are not alone,” said Vernon Brewer, founder and CEO of World Help. “But most of all, take time to pray on behalf of those affected by Hurricane Dorian. Pray for their safety, their health and for the recovery process over the next several months.”

Operation Blessing, a Virginia-based aid organization, sent a disaster relief team today to Nassau, Bahamas. The team of first responders—led by Diego Traverso, director of International Disaster Relief from Operation Blessing Mexico— will provide basic aid, including clean water, medical help, food and shelter.

A second team is expected to arrive Thursday.

Operation Blessing says it will distribute 500 solar-powered lights for safer shelter, 5,000 strips of Aquatabs and 200 Katadyn Gravity Filters for clean water. The team will also have an Aquifer 360 solar-powered mobile water treatment system that can purify up to 15 gallons of salty, brackish or fresh water per hour.

Please keep praying for those affected by Hurricane Dorian.
