Prayer Is Not Enough—White House Press Sec. Vows to Push Gun Control

To the chagrin of Christians across the world, the Biden administration continues to distance itself from anything having to do with the Judeo-Christian values America was founded on.

In a statement released late Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre doubled down on the administration’s plans for stricter gun control in the United States.

What stood out was her statement regarding prayer in the matter.

“Enough is enough. Gun violence in this country is an epidemic that will not end with thoughts and prayers alone.”

As many within the administration move further left on the political spectrum, the Marxist views and policies they support bring with it the atheistic political approach that is incompatible with American values.

In the past, prayer is the first place American leadership would turn for positive change to be made in the country.

President John F. Kennedy, a type of Democrat that is all but unrecognizable today, said:

“Let us pray for our nation and for other nations of the world. Alay we especially ask God’s blessing upon—Our homes, that this integral unit of society may nurture our youth and give to them the needed faith in God, in our nation, and in their future…”

President Jimmy Carter, another Democrat who endured a term similar to what President Biden is experiencing, but with worse inflation and economic struggles, included partaking in a fast for the nation:

“I further ask that all who so desire make this a Day of Fast as well. On that day, I ask Americans to join me in thanksgiving to God for His blessings and in earnest prayer to Him for His protection in the year ahead. Finally, may He grant freedom to all unjustly held captive, and may He grant us His vision of a world at peace.”

Finally, what president highlighted the power of prayer quite like “The Gipper?” Throughout his presidency, President Ronald Reagan sought the guidance of the Almighty to guide himself and the Nation:

“From General Washington’s struggle at Valley Forge to the present, this nation has fervently sought and received divine guidance as it pursued the course of history. This occasion provides our nation with an opportunity to further recognize the source of our blessings, and to seek His help for the challenges we face today and in the future.”

The violence that Ms. Jean-Pierre speaks of is a challenge that Americans face today. Yet history has taught that nations who disarm their citizenry have all too often committed horrific crimes against its very citizens.

From Hitler to Stalin to Mao to Pol Pot, unspeakable crimes have been committed by governments against citizens who were unable to defend themselves. Hence the Founding Fathers of the United States saw the need for American citizens to have the right to arm and protect themselves from the tyranny of government.

The very thing that the White House Press Secretary, the representative of the administration to the people, says isn’t enough, is the very thing that Americans across the country need to be doing.

The Bible extolls the power of prayer, repentance and God’s unmatched power. These are essential keys to the success, safety and future of the American republic.

When leaders abandon these principles, society pays the price. Americans have witnessed this moral decay over the decades, and each generation is given an opportunity to elect leaders who promote godly, biblical values.

This Nov. 8, Americans have a chance to elect leaders who are guided by biblical values, not to establish a theocracy and force others to worship as they do, but to be guided by these beliefs and govern with morality established by God and on which America was founded. {eoa}
