Megachurch Pastor Brian Gibson, founder of the PeaceablyGather.com movement to safely reopen churches across America with 5,000 churches now joining the effort that launched May 17, praises President Trump’s comments on the White House lawn yesterday in a new video out this morning. Gibson will be preaching in Chicago this Sunday, May 24, in a reopened church attended by immigrants who fled dictatorship and are standing for their religious freedoms.

WHO: Pastor Brian Gibson, founder of the Peaceably Gather movement

WHAT: Elim Romanian Pentecostal Church (In-Person Service)

WHEN: Sunday, May 24 at 9 a.m. Central

WHERE: 4850 N. Bernard Street, Chicago, IL 60625

How the Movement Started

—The Peaceably Gather Sunday movement derives its name from the First Amendment of the Constitution, which states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

—The Peaceably Gather Campaign comes as a response to local elected leaders across the country unconstitutionally targeting any attempt of places of worship to safely gather their members.

—Over 200 churches opened their doors on Sunday, May 17, and participated in the Peaceably Gather campaign, and thousands are now joining

—Kelly Shackelford, president, CEO and chief counsel for First Liberty, has committed that its team will provide legal defense for any church across the country that has its First Amendment rights violated.

—First Liberty has represented numerous churches across the country during the pandemic and has won every case, including a federal statewide injunction opening all churches across Kentucky for safe in-person services {eoa}

Pastor Brian Gibson is senior pastor of HIS Church, a nondenominational church with congregations in Owensboro and Henderson, Kentucky, as well as in Amarillo and Dumas, Texas. He is founder of the Peaceably Gather movement.

First Liberty Institute is the largest legal organization in the nation dedicated exclusively to defending religious liberty for all Americans.
