Millions of Believers Uniting in Prayer Tomorrow for Prophetic Purpose

What began with one historic phone call with 25 ministry leaders has turned into a global prayer movement spanning tens of thousands of churches and millions of believers in nearly 200 countries. The initiative is called “Unite 714 Global Prayer Initiative” and will involve a worldwide online prayer event on May 29 as well as a television special featuring an international lineup of Christian leaders. The purpose of both events is to encourage believers around the globe to unite in prayer based on the Scripture from 2 Chronicles 7:14 that God will intervene in this challenging crisis:

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

As the world was experiencing the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, 25 prominent pastors and ministry leaders from different denominations, networks and nations gathered on March 19, 2020, for a historic phone call. In the course of the conversation, it became clear they all shared one heart—to unite and activate the worldwide body of Christ to pray for both the eradication of this virus and spiritual awakening across the world. Using 2 Chronicles 7:14 as their guide, UNITE714 was born.

The call from God was simply to unite the global church by engaging churches and individuals around the world in prayer at 7:14 every morning and evening. Soon a strategic pastoral team emerged that would develop and guide this prayer initiative with Pastors Chris Hodges, Steve Robinson, Dino Rizzo and James Laffoon guiding the way. What began as a small group of leaders has turned into an international movement bringing together thousands of churches and millions of people across the globe.

The movement has grown into a worldwide phenomenon in a remarkably short time. International Christian leaders such as Robert Morris, Nicky Gumbel, Chris Hodges, Kenneth Ulmer, Christine Caine, Daniel Ho, Jentezen Franklin, Miles McPherson, Carlito Paes, Goodwill Shana, Brian Houston, George Wood, Kari Jobe and many others have endorsed the initiative and encouraged churches and individual Christians to pray every day at 7:14 a.m. and p.m.

The online event at 10 a.m. CDT on May 29 will be hosted by Pastor Steve Robinson from Church of the King in New Orleans, Louisiana, and then it will be broadcast on television networks like TBN, Daystar, Hillsong, TCT, as well as a list of global networks such as God-TV, Australian Christian Channel, Miracle Network Canada, Yes Network Canada and many others throughout Europe, Asia and Africa.
