Ransomware: Behind the Veil of the Invisible War

Share:

Profit-driven cyberattacks are becoming routine, with more and more industries facing the threat of having their vital information stolen and little recourse beyond paying a ransom. In just the past couple of months, hackers have paralyzed the delivery of fuel to the East Coast that led to gas station closures and, more recently, we’ve seen a major meat packing facility close—both resulting in price hikes affecting millions of Americans.

Days ago, the United States energy secretary said that our country’s adversaries have the ability to shut down America’s power grid, and there are “thousands of attacks on all aspects of the energy sector.” The front lines of our nation’s battlefield used to be overseas in the deserts of the Middle East. Today, the technology so vital to our daily lives has brought the threat to our laptops and iPhones. It seems the U.S. is not as prepared as we need to be.

To be clear, the enemy has become invisible. This form of warfare is new to the global marketplace, but it shouldn’t be new to the church. Unfortunately, the church has too often ignored this battle, focusing our efforts instead on politics, social media and culturally divisive issues. It’s time to join the battle raging around us in the spirit realm, where “our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12).

The emerging battle in the digital marketplace should not be a surprise. Instead, it should be an alarm bell summoning the body of Christ to the spiritual battlefield. Join us for Episode 33 of Envoy: From Behind the Veil on Charisma Podcast Network as we talk about the invisible war in the spirit realm and how you can join the fight to experience the victory of heaven on earth. {eoa}
