Why Christians Are Totally Wrong When They Say ‘Money Is Evil’

Share:

“Money is neutral. It can be used for good or used for evil.”

That’s a quote from Jim Brangenberg, co-host of iWork4Him, as he interviewed two kingdom-investment experts as they discussed a new concept called “kingdom investing.” Many Christians believe that money is evil, but is that what Scripture actually says?

No—actually, 1 Timothy 6:10 says: “For the love of money is the root of all evil. While coveting after money, some have strayed from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

The love of money—that is, putting it before God as an idol—is the root of many evils. Money itself is a tool. Used wisely, it’s a tool we can use to help further the kingdom of God. And there’s a new tool we have to help us make it happen.

There is a new concept called “kingdom investing” that challenges us to be aware of what business activities our stocks and mutual funds are invested in. And if they support companies and activities contrary to kingdom values, we need to reroute and reinvest in companies that are kingdom-focused, kingdom-minded and that build up the kingdom.

Yes, this sounds a bit overwhelming, but there are professionals out there who have the funds already in place and the answers to making it happen. Find out what this is and how you can make it happen for your investments.
