The Real Reason You Aren’t Hearing God’s Voice Right Now

Are you having a hard time hearing from God?

Pastor Joshua Reyes says it may be because you’re not taking the time to listen.

Before Reyes knew Jesus, he was pursuing a lifestyle of homosexuality and drugs. One time when he rushed to the hospital because of an overdose, he saw the Holy Spirit and a demon fighting for his life. That scary vision woke Reyes up to the truth: He needed to follow Jesus.

Now he leads SoulFire Revival Center, where he teaches everyday believers how to hear God’s voice and know Him better.

“The Word of God says it was the still, small voice that spoke to Elijah,” Reyes says on his “Legacy” podcast. “Another translation says it was a whisper. So with all of the roaring of the wind storm, the crazy rock slide and the earthquake and the fire, it was a whisper that God chose to use to speak to Elijah.

“Sometimes, in the chaos of life, when we’re going through situations and we know that we need a breakthrough, and we know that we need an answer and we’re waiting for God to move, we think He’s not present with us or that He doesn’t care or that He’s just not bothering to give us direction. … But guess what? God is always speaking. We just need to learn how not to just hear Him but to listen intentionally for His voice.”

But how do busy Christians do that in the stress of everyday life? Listen to the podcast to find out.
