March for Life 2022: Faith Leaders Unite in Support of Pro-Life Cause

The excitement was as palpable as the frigid temperatures as the 2022 March for Life kicked off in Washington, D.C., Jan. 21, with faith leaders, political leaders and thousands of citizens from across the U.S. uniting to share their support of the pro-life the cause in this critical year. The entire event was livestreamed at cn.mycharisma.com.

Along with many others, Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship and the Harvest Crusade ministry shared his support on social media. As someone conceived outside of marriage, Laurie says, “I am against abortion and I am pro-life.”

Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King Jr. and chairman of the America First Policy Institute’s Center for the American Dream, also attended the Washington, D.C., March. She shared her support on Facebook, noting that she and the America First team were “boldly crying out for the overturn of Roe v. Wade!”

Franklin Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and of Samaritan’s Purse, also tweeted his support for the March for Life, noting that his daughter, Cissie Graham Lynch, led in prayer at the March for Life rally:

In her prayer, Lynch expressed concern for women caught in decisions about life:

My Faith Votes conducted a video interview with actor and Christian conservative activist Kirk Cameron, asking him why the March for Life is so important to him.

“We’re talking about the most fundamental gift that we’ve been given: the gift of life,” the former Growing Pains star said. “This is really personal for me because my wife [actress Chelsea Noble] is an adopted child. So think about that: There was a young lady who chose life, and because she did that, my wife is alive today. And we have four adopted children who were this close to not existing.

“If my wife had not been born, our two natural children wouldn’t have been born. Our whole family is here because of those who have chosen life,” Cameron said, adding, “We celebrate and defend life because our hope is ultimately not in Washington, D.C. Our hope is not in the laws that are made here. Our hope is in the power of God who is working in the hearts of the people who are here.”

And a time lapse video from LifeNews.com captures the turnout for this year’s march:

Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood director who is now a pro-life advocate, posted a simple but powerful message:
