9-year-old Drummer Gifted in Music and Prophecy Impacting Millions Worldwide

At just nine years old, John Miles Brockman has taken the world by storm, going viral for worshipping Jesus on the drums on Sunday with his church. We sat down with John Miles who shares the tear-jerking story of how the Holy Spirit spoke to him to start using his gift on the drums to change the world.

“He (The Holy Spirit) was like, ‘I want you to prophesy something on the drums and it will help Ukraine and what they are in right now,'” the 9-year-old drummer says.

Joined by his parents John and Joslyn Brockman and two sisters, the family encourages believer’s around the world to allow God to move in and through them. “God can put His sound on your sound, and it makes a difference,” Joslyn says.

John Miles got his first drum set at two years old, now he has joined the adults on the worship team at Creative Church. The congregation was blown away by his talent and clear anointing from God.

After seeing the heart-warming impact he was already making, the Brockman’s decided to start social media accounts for him—the rest is history.

In just three months he’s garnered over 35 million views on one TikTok video alone and 130,000 followers on the platform. “His goal is to make Jesus famous, that’s why he plays and when you watch him play he’s just so full of joy,” John says.

Videos goes viral on social media everyday but how often are they glorifying the Lord? It’s incredible to see children understand the power of the Holy Spirit, especially in worship. “He’ll go downstairs and just prophesy. Playing over nations, playing over our nation, playing for healing. He doesn’t just play to play,” John says.

The Brockman’s have four tips for parents out there raising children in the ways of God:

  1. You’re never fully prepared and that’s okay. Allow grace to flow from your weaknesses because you are perfected in God’s strength.
  2. When you make mistakes acknowledge them and say sorry.
  3. Gauge where your children are at. See if they need a break, or encouragement to push forward in their gifts and callings.
  4. Facilitate what God is doing inside of them and lean into the creativity.

First Timothy 4:12 says, “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith and in purity.”

John Miles is an encouragement to Christians, young and old that God can use childlike faith to change the world. You have gifts and callings inside of you that may be dormant right now, step out in faith today and watch what God can do.

Tune in to the rest of the interview to hear from John Miles and the Brockman family and the powerful move of the Holy Spirit in youth. {eoa}
