“I am excited to announce that my cartoon character, Ben Born Again and his buddy, Yellow Dog are now animated and our first cartoon is coming very soon!” Laurie wrote.

“The first one is titled, ‘The Bridge is Out.'” The Harvest Christian Fellowship pastor continued.

For Laurie, the focus of these cartoons is to serve two primary purposes of entertainment and evangelism. In the post, Laurie included a 52 second clip that introduces Ben and Yellow Dog.

“I’m Ben Born Again. Get it? It’s a play on words, as in ‘I’ve been born again!'” the video clip starts.

In later post on X, Laurie shared the first episode of the series.

“Here it is. The first official Ben Born Again Cartoon!” Laurie wrote. “It’s 7 minutes long but it took more than 7 months to make! I hope you enjoy it. And I pray that God will use this cartoon to bring younger people to Christ.”

This sweet cartoon seeking to emanate the light of Jesus to the world couldn’t come at a better time than right now as we see entertainment giants like Disney are tearing down the innocence of children with storylines filled with the demonic, LGBTQ ideologies and other ideological factors that couldn’t be further away from the type of messaging that they actually need. We’ve seen this most recently with Amazon’s new show “Hazbin Hotel,” which glorifies Satan as the good guy in the creation story, completely ignoring the fact that it is because of Satan’s deception that sin entered the world.

While we do and will continue to see corruption in our fallen world, we can protect ourselves by sticking close to the foundation of Christ and filling our spirits with godly, enriching entertainment that will edify us to be more like Jesus. {eoa}
