Our way of life as we know it could change in the next week. It is concerning to me that civil unrest could break out as a result of the election.
I can’t help but keep thinking about how everything we have loved, the free America we have come to know and our liberties could be at stake with the election outcome. It is more important than ever that we get to the polls and vote.
As a deliverance minister, I can see and feel in the spiritual realm. I remember feeling the darkness hovering over America for years as we were under ungodly leadership. My husband and I felt a spiritual shift in the atmosphere one election morning as we heard on the radio that our country’s leadership was being shifted.
It was as if a dark veil and cloud had lifted over the United States. We felt a lightness in the spiritual atmosphere that we had not experienced for years. Something had been broken in both the natural and spiritual realm. We were so thankful. I believe it was the result of many Christians praying and voting.
Our country is at stake once again for something to bust loose in the Spirit. Depending on how we vote, we could see revival or chaos and darkness. We must vote. This could be one of the most crucial elections ever. Our lives are at stake. Our liberties are at stake. The very constitution and what has been established as liberties in our lives are at stake!
But what does God say? God says to honor those in leadership over you. Honor them through prayer, but don’t condone wrong actions and beliefs. If we don’t want to support wrong actions, some of us will need to cross party lines.
Voting for a party can be legalistic. We need to be Spirit-led and guided in our vote. We should vote based on godly principles and values. We vote based on our beliefs led by the Word of God. We vote with the Word and not against the Word. We can’t justify a candidate’s views and try to align it with the Bible. It must be the Bible.
If what they stand for is against the Word of God, we will give account for that someday when we stand before God. I wonder how many elections would have been different over the years if people stood back and discerned how to vote. If they allowed God to lead them at the polls instead of their flesh.
It is critical as Christians that we get out and vote, but more importantly that we vote led by the Spirit of God. After all, our lives and the lives of those we love are at stake. {eoa}
