A high school student was denied permission to start a Christian club on her campus. As a result, letters of support poured in from other students across the country, reports Fox News.
Fox & Friends co-host Pete Hegseth interviewed 14-year-old Daniela Barca, who said she wanted to start the Bible club because “sometimes it feels like it’s just me” who is a Christian on campus.
But Roy C. Ketcham High School denied Barca’s request because the club was too religious and “not generic enough.”
First Liberty Institute contacted the high school’s superintendent, demanding that the school follow the law and let Barca form a religious club. School officials soon afterward granted Barca permission to start her club.
“We are grateful to Wappingers Central school district officials for acting swiftly to ensure that religious students can freely exercise their right to meet together at school,” First Liberty Counsel Keisha Russell says. “Daniela is thrilled she’ll be allowed to form a club so those who share her faith can express who they are and encourage each other.”
Students Standing Strong sent Barca letters of support, encouraging her for her boldness to stand up for Jesus Christ. Students Standing Strong is an organization that educates public school students regarding their legal rights as Christians.
