Christianity Once Saved Europe from Islam—and Can Again

The people of the United Kingdom are still reeling after a deadly terrorist attack in London rocked the nation and instilled trepidation again across the western world.

ISIS has claimed responsibility, the Associated Press reported, for the attack that killed at least four, including an American man from Utah, a British police officer and a teacher. The attacker drove a car through a group of 40 pedestrians on Westminster Bridge, then wielded a knife near Parliament, according to The Guardian.

Along with many Americans, religion and culture expert, national radio host and author Dr. Alex McFarland, is mourning the attacks, stating that the world must also realize the dangers of Islamic infiltration.

“Former President Barack Obama said that the majority of Muslims adheres to the tenets of the religion and is not violent,” McFarland said. “But the opposite is true—those who carry out violence in the name of Islam are the ones who are most committed to the staunch beliefs of this faith system, and are willing to die for those beliefs.

“In light of these attacks, Americans should be thankful to President Donald Trump and his commitment to limiting the travel of those who have the intent to harm us and our neighbors,” McFarland continued. “Protecting the American people is the moral and responsible thing to do, and President Trump is fully committed to those responsibilities. Secularists, atheists and all who aren’t Christians should, frankly, be glad for the spread and growth of Christianity, as only faith in Jesus can counter the iron sword of Sharia law.”

As the adage goes, McFarland said, those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. In the 1200s and 1300s, Christianity saved Europe from Islam, and many are able to live out the Christian faith today because of the apologetics ministry, defense of Christianity and repudiation of Islam by Thomas Aquinas.

“What can save the West from Islam today is Christianity,” McFarland said. “We must wisely learn from history.” {eoa}
