The Modern English Version, an update of the famous King James Version, was presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, to whom the new translation had been dedicated, Sunday at Windsor Castle.

At a special ceremony on May 8, 2016 at Saint George’s Chapel, The Right Reverend David Conner, the Queen’s pastor and Dean of Windsor, accepted the special Bible on behalf of the Queen from Steve Strang, CEO of Charisma Media, which publishes the Modern English Version (MEV).

In the tradition of the famous Authorized Version, which was previously dedicated to King James, the committee on Bible translation of the Military Bible Association now dedicated the MEV translation to Queen Elizabeth, adding “the translators of the Bible wish you grace, mercy and peace through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Strang presented a customized premium leather-bound edition of the Modern English Version Bible bearing the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom and a special dedication page stating, “to Her Majesty Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of her Other Realms and Territories, Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.”

“Presenting the Modern English Version to Queen Elizabeth II is a milestone,” Strang said. “The MEV’s lineage is directly tied to the King James translation which is why it was dedicated to her. It is well-known she has a strong Christian faith.”

“Perhaps this will bring attention to Bible reading and the importance of God’s Word being rendered in a language a new generation understands,” he added.

This literal translation maintains the beauty of the past yet provides fresh clarity for a new generation of Bible readers. The MEV accurately communicates God’s Word anew as it capitalizes references of God, maintaining reverence of the Scriptures. The MEV is the most up-to-date Bible in the King James tradition.

Charisma Media, located near Orlando, Florida, first published the Modern English Version Bible translation in 2014, and it has become a translation of choice to Bible readers around the world.

Several of the 47 translators attended the ceremony as well as retired British Col. David Waddell and English businessman Martin Clarke who were instrumental in connecting with the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth recently became the longest reigning monarch in British history and celebrated her 90th birthday last month.{eoa}
