Freedom March Organizer: ‘There is Freedom in Jesus Christ from Any Lifestyle’

As a former member of the LGBTQ community, Jeffrey McCall knows firsthand of God’s special call on the lives of those who have left that lifestyle behind. And he knows that his testimony, and those with similar stories, can help bring many others out of bondage and to the saving knowledge of Christ.

That’s why McCall founded Freedom March, a diverse group of Christians who have shunned the homosexual and transgender lifestyle to serve Christ. It’s why they are holding events like Saturday’s Freedom March in Washington, D.C., attended by approximately 150 people.

And it’s the powerful and diverse testimonies, McCall says, that made a huge impact this weekend in the nation’s capital–testimonies to the power of the Holy Spirit who set them free from their past wounds and sexual sin.

“It was just amazing hearing so many different stories from such a diverse group of people,” McCall says. “It was such a faith builder in every way.

“One of my favorite moments was hearing Brian’s Wheelock’s story of freedom from homosexuality. He signed a covenant with God every day for a long time saying he wanted to obey God more than anything. At the end of speaking, he brought his wife and three daughters up on stage. It was amazing seeing the restoration of him to God and the beautiful family that came from it.”

McCall says miracles happened Saturday and hearts were changed. MJ Nixon, founder of Uprooted Heart Inc., gave an altar call at the end of the event and tears flowed.

“It was beautiful,” McCall says. “People were asking for prayer and weeping. Prophecies were given that a shift has taken place in this country and that it’s just the beginning. We didn’t really encounter much spiritual warfare. I believe God sent host armies before us and shattered the plans of the enemy and protected us, His children.”

Organizers held the first Freedom March last May near the National Mall in Washington. Another march was held in late 2018 in Los Angeles.

McCall is pleased with the way God has used the organization to reach lives for Christ.

“The March has changed in that there is a different rhythm to it,” McCall says. “We all have built family and know each other better. It’s like a tight-knit family atmosphere. It has also changed in that it’s at least three times larger than last year. So many turned up to celebrate their freedom, including new people I had never met yet.”

Freedom March has scheduled similar events in St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 23 and Orlando, Florida, on Sept. 14.

“We just want others to join us in St. Paul and Orlando and help spread the word that there is freedom through Jesus Christ from any lifestyle, including the LGBTQ lifestyles,” McCall says. “With God, all things are possible!
