TBN’s Crouch Credits Prayer for Global Success of Christian Broadcasting Ministry

The success of Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) can be gauged by one recent statistic: On average, a prayer partner on duty at TBN’s California headquarters prays with a caller every 30 seconds.

Twice a minute, a viewer from somewhere in the U.S. or beyond has a prayer request, a need for salvation or a praise report that prompts a call to one of TBN’s prayer partners available 24 hours a day.

“When my parents, Paul and Jan Crouch, began TBN over 40 years ago, one of the very first things they established was the prayer line to allow viewers to call in with needs and praise reports,” recalls TBN Vice President Matthew Crouch. “Over the years, despite the tremendous success TBN has enjoyed in expanding to 26 networks and affiliates reaching every corner of the earth, nothing outweighs the importance of being able to pray with our viewers and rejoice over answers to prayer.”

In October alone, TBN’s prayer partners received nearly 100,000 individual calls and prayer requests—about two calls a minute—and led around 730 individuals to faith in Christ or spiritual renewal. Beyond those numbers, TBN’s dedicated prayer team received an additional 766 calls, emails, Facebook posts or other contacts from men, women, young people and even children thanking God for answered prayer.

“TBN’s prayer center has been a lifeline for millions of individuals over the years,” says Donna Recinos, who helps manage TBN’s prayer ministry. “From physical, emotional and financial needs to calls for personal salvation or for loved ones in desperate straits, every hour of every day TBN’s prayer partners are reaching out to help people find God in their time of need.”

Recinos adds that viewers regularly call back with reports of miraculous answers to prayers.

“Every member of TBN’s prayer team can recount stories that clearly show how God is moving in people’s lives through TBN,” she says. “And they all agree that there is no greater privilege than to be a conduit helping someone experience God’s touch on their lives.”

Crouch says that as TBN grows in global outreach, “Nothing is more important to us than to realize people continue to be powerfully impacted through our ministry of prayer. And as long as this network is on the air, broadcasting programming that changes lives and destinies, our prayer partners will be there, as they have for the past 40-plus years, praying and rejoicing with those who are being touched by God through TBN.”
