UPDATED: Senate Set to Vote on New Health Care Bill at 3:30 PM

12:30 p.m. Update: The Senate is now scheduled to vote on Sen. Rand Paul's "clean repeal" bill at 3:30 p.m. EDT. The Senate continues to intermittently debate health care policy in the meantime.

The U.S. Senate is again debating the House of Representatives' American Health Care Act after Tuesday night's defeat of an amendment that would have replaced that bill with a third version of the Republican leadership's Better Care Reconciliation Act.

A vote was scheduled to take place at 11:30 a.m. EDT, but it's unclear what the vote will be on. Likely, it will be a "clean repeal" amendment. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., insisted the Senate instead move the bill back to committee, where Republicans and Democrats can create a compromise that will get a majority of votes in both chambers.

The amendment the Senate will consider was authored by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.
