Poll: Americans Feel Future Economy Is Bleak

A new Associated Press GFK poll finds only one in four expect their financial situation to improve over the year.

It indicates that Americans are becoming increasingly pessimistic about the US economy recovery.

The poll also shows that just 48 percent of Americans approve of Obama’s handling of the economy Fifty-two percent disapprove.

Democrats, who in the past have rated the economy better than Republicans under President Obama, have become less optimistic about their financial prospects since January. Forty-one percent of Democrats thought their finances would improve in that next year while only 30 percent feel that way now.
