Christian Parents of Boy Rescued From Cave Know Exactly What Saved Their Son

(Compassion International)

Parents of a boy who was trapped in the Tham Luang cave system in Thailand have given thanks to God following his rescue.

The boy, who has not been named by the media, spent 16 days along with his 11 teammates and their coach deep inside a flooded cave system with limited food and oxygen.

They were found after nine days, but it took another week to bring them out safely, and one of the rescue team—a professional diver from Thailand—died in the process.

Sovereign

The boy is sponsored through Christian charity Compassion, and the boy's parents, who attend Maesai Grace Church in Chiang Rai province, gave thanks to God for their son's safe rescue.

They said: "Thank you to God who helps us to see our son very soon. We are so happy to hear that our son is out of the cave and to welcome him home.

"It's the love that God gives to our family. God is great love and there's nothing He can't do."

Thankful

When news arrived after nine days that all 12 boys and the coach had been found, his mother said: "Thank you to God. I'm really thankful that they found my son and all 13 are alive.

"I'm so happy and so thankful to see my son again. Thank you so much to everyone that has been praying for us and the boys and helping us; thank you."

Ewan McGregor, a British missionary in the city of Chiang Rai where the boys are now in hospital, said: "It really is a miracle and a result of prayer and I'm just excited to hear the testimonies of the boys when they're safe and well.
