In the video, he’s a freshman in college, wearing an American Eagle collared shirt and standing in a make-shift pulpit for a class presentation.

“Can I go?” he asks before launching into a sermon about missions and how believers must be set apart from the world.

The video was posted in 2010, but the world now knows the man preaching: slain missionary John Allen Chau.

The Sentinelese people reportedly killed Chau last month when he arrived on the remote island.
