IRS Reverses Course, Grants Tax-Exempt Status to Christians Engaged

The Internal Revenue Service has now granted tax-exempt status to Christians Engaged, a Texas-based nonprofit to which it had previously refused the 501(c)(3) designation.

The reversal comes after a national outcry against the IRS’ rejection, which the government agency claimed happened because “Bible teachers are typically affiliated with the Republican Party and candidates.”
