Progressive drag queen singer with the stage name "Flamy Grant" and songwriter Derek Webb made an appearance at the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, contemporary Christian music's most important award show of the year.
Derek Webb said on X that he has won and been nominated for Dove awards previously, but that this would be his first time going to the award show, and for the occasion he was going to wear a dress.
"Despite having won a few over the past 20+ years, tonight will be my first ever trip to the dove awards," Webb wrote on X. "In the company of some very good friends (@FlamyGrant and @gracebaldridge, among others). I hardly ever dress up, but this feels like a very special occasion."
In one of his latest videos, evangelist John Ramirez is exposing the dangers of allowing Halloween celebrations to creep into the church, especially in the form of trunk or treat.
"Shame on these pastors that believe they can celebrate something without no consequences," Ramirez says.
Ramirez points out that there is no such thing as a "safe place" for kids to celebrate Halloween because there is never a time to even remotely entertain the idea of dealing with the satanic realms. He says even the very candy that is consumed on Halloween has been prayed over by those ranking in the satanic realms.
"We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people." —Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Israel is at war, and the Black church finds itself silent again. Why?
Over 1,400 innocent Israelis have been murdered. Women, children and the elderly have been violently taken hostage. Israeli babies have been beheaded and burned, all at the hands of Hamas, a terrorist organization.
If any organization or group of people should be decrying the atrocities of these brutal killings from Hamas, it should be the Black church. If any organization or group of people should be standing with unwavering support for Israel during these difficult days, it should be the Black church. We are compelled to do so.
Through social media, multitudes of friends, family and those touched by his ministry are calling for prayer for author, filmmaker, television producer, speaker and ordained Messianic minister Warren Marcus, who is in the hospital fighting for his life.
Believers are asked to pray for Marcus and also for his wife, Donna; their children, Joe and Tara; and their families.
"Overwhelmed is not a strong enough word to describe all the prayers and stories of how Warren touched you," Donna Marcus wrote on Facebook. "Warren is feeling them. Please continue. I love you all."
