Christian artist Sean Feucht doesn’t mince words about anything that affects the body of Christ. But when it comes to the Parental Rights in Education bill recently signed into law by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Feucht has become increasingly vocal because it protects young children, our future generation.
The law, signed by DeSantis in late March, prohibits schools from officially instructing students about sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3, ages 5-9. Opponents have erroneously labeled it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
With four children of his own, Feucht is taking an adamant stand against The Disney Company’s defiant stance against the new law and its callous attitude toward young children of this age with its cultural agenda in its television shows and movies, among other things. He has organized a rally outside the gates of Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, on Wednesday, April 6, at 6 p.m. (PT), to protest Disney’s attack on youth. He says he is grateful to the Burbank police for their cooperation concerning the rally and was told extra officers will be sent to the scene.
“What is alarming to me about this whole thing is that Disney has worked to be intentional about the gay agenda and the LGBTQ culture in its movies,” Feucht says. “Their resistance and their anger against Gov. Ron DeSantis is unbelievable. They are raising a ruckus over banning sex talk to kindergartners—5-year-olds, mind you—and that is alarming to me.
“This is an hour for exposing these people for who they are,” he adds. “If you’re against this law, you’re deranged. Who in their right mind would be against this? It’s one thing to take a stand and pray and to talk about it, which is something we need to do in church. But Christians need to take a stand for this right now. We need to recover the old-school grit that moms and dads had before us. We can’t bend on this. I’m taking notes from James Dobson and others like Billy Graham, who raised up against issues like this. This is crucial for our generation. Companies like Disney with woke ideologies are forcing this stuff on our children. It’s parents who are saying, ‘Enough is enough.'”
But Feucht says it’s not human flesh we’re battling with when it comes to important issues such as these. He says there is a “principality at play,” and we must employ spiritual warfare.
“This is a very intimidating spirit,” Feucht says. “It’s fear. Everyone is afraid of being canceled if they don’t go along. They don’t want to ruffle any feathers. But to be honest, churches and ministries have partnered with this spirit. This is a war for the innocence of our children. I really believe that the majority of Americans are behind us on this. The people in Florida don’t want sex talk taught to their kids at 5 years old. My question is, why would you have an issue with that.”
One Million Moms has already asked believers to boycott Disney and its products. Since DeSantis signed the Parental Rights in Education law, Disney decided to reinsert a previously cut scene in one of its latest movies, Lightyear, in which two females kiss.
Ironically, Feucht says, he believes the majority of Disney employees oppose their own company’s stance on the Parental Rights in Education bill. He says he encountered the same reaction when, in January, he lost a book deal with top publisher HarperCollins over his political stance.
“Just like Disney, you’ve got a few woke employees there that were able to get my book canceled,” Feucht says. “If you ask me, that’s bad business. They are caving to a small number of woke employees in their ranks. Most employees don’t feel that way. I’m pretty sure it’s the same way at Disney.”
Prominent Democrats and media have maligned DeSantis for the Parental Rights in Education law, per a recent Fox News article. Not surprisingly, Saturday Night Live recently devoted a sarcastic skit to the issue, and CNN’s Don Lemon has decried the law live on the air many times. Actors Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer and Regina Hall, co-hosts of the Oscars, also got in on the DeSantis bashing.
Feucht says he hopes that opponents of the Parental Rights in Education bill will come out to the rally in Burbank—not for a physical showdown, but to expose their agenda to harm young children.
“At the rally, we’re going to stand in front of Disney Studios and say, ‘We are here. We are Christians and we’re not going to stand for this,'” Feucht says. “We are going to cancel our subscriptions and voice our concerns.
“Every believer out there needs to get behind this,” he adds. “Are you willing to live in a country where allowing sexual ideologies to be taught to young children is accepted? Do you want to give your state the authority to pervert your children and have the authority to indoctrinate them? As Christians, we can’t do that. We are stewards of our kids. It’s a big issue. God has given us these amazing gifts, and we can’t abdicate our authority. This is the hour we’ve been created for.
“The year 2022 is the year of parents,” he says. “We saw that in Virginia at school board meetings, and that turned the tide of the gubernatorial election. When parents wise up, they’ll realize exactly what’s happened. We thank Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for his courage. We also want him to know that we’ve got his back, we’re grateful and we stand with him.” {eoa}
