An armed civilian, only identified as a pastor and volunteer medic, took down an active shooter by a Walmart earlier this week.

The pastor shot and killed the gunman after Tim O. Day shot at least two people Sunday night in a Washington Walmart. A CBS affiliate reports the minister works with the Oakville Fire Department, where he is a lieutenant and an emergency medical technician.

“I thanked him for saving my life,” Witness Robert Berwick says of the pastor. “He didn’t look like he had any regrets. I hope he doesn’t have any.”

The Olympian clarified the timeline:

According to Tumwater police, about 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Olympia police were notified about a possible carjacking at an area gas station. The suspect, Day, was unsuccessful, so he fled in his own vehicle, drove the wrong way on Highway 101 and exited into the city of Tumwater. He then drove erratically on Tumwater streets and crashed at Tyee Drive and Israel Road Southwest near the Toyota dealership.

Day then attempted to carjack at least two more vehicles there, including firing shots. Two people were injured: a 16-year-old boy (not a 16-year-old girl as previously reported) and a second person. Wohl did not have information on the second person.

Day successfully commandeered a third vehicle that he drove to Walmart, where he entered the store to get ammunition, then exited again.

Day allegedly shot another Rickey Fievez in the Walmart parking lot before the pastor killed the suspect.

Fievez’s son Tyler started a GoFundMe to raise money for his father’s injuries.

“I’m raising money for my dad who was shot twice … he was shot at the Tumwater Walmart shooting he is in ICU and lost his spleen and part of his pancreas, He also ruptured his stomach … he is paralyzed from the neck down. When we talk to him he can shake his head and blink to answer us but can’t move anything else. Donations will go to medical and other bills he has,” Kyle posted.

The page has many prayers left in the comments.

An update reads: “So update is that he is in surgery now he is still paralyzed from the neck down he can’t move anything from neck down so we have to ask him questions and he shakes his head yes or no … they will most likely do spine surgery because there is bullet fragments in his spin. And bleeding I’m kidney so we are hopping for the best still thank you to everyone for the support. Will update again.”
